We’re happy to announce that we’re roasting a limited run of a special Christmas blend again this year!

This year, we’re using two standout coffees from our network in Ethiopia, both from producers we’ve come to know well over the years. The blend brings together a washed lot from Haji’s washing station and a natural lot from Nasir’s drying station. We first visited both in 2022, and it’s been rewarding to see how their coffees have developed since then.

The result is a sweet, syrupy, and complex profile that balances the best of both processes. The washed coffee from Haji contributes florality, structure, and delicate notes of bergamot and dark chocolate. The natural from Nasir brings juicy sweetness and fruit-driven tones reminiscent of stone fruit and ripe berries.

This year, we’re roasting these coffees a bit darker than usual, something we don’t often do with Ethiopian coffees, but one that really suits this pairing. The darker roast brings out a flavour profile that reminds us of dried fruit, dark chocolate, and caramelized sugar, with subtle hints of clove and jasmine, perfect for the season.
